When making tea, matcha is put in a bowl, hot water is poured in, and the matcha and hot water are mixed with a bamboo whisk. There is a standing style (Urasenke).
[1] Take the chashaku with your right hand and the natsume with your left hand.
[2] Hold the tea scoop in your right hand, remove the lid of the natsume, and place the lid on the right side of the tea bowl.
[3] Pick up the tea scoop again, scoop up one and a half scoops of matcha from the natsume with the tea scoop, and pour it into the tea bowl.
[4] Shake the tea in the bowl well, lightly brush the tea scoop on the rim of the bowl, and brush off the tea sticking to the tip of the paddle.
[5] Squeeze the tea scoop, close the lid of the natsume, return the natsume to its original position, and place the tea scoop on top of the natsume.
[6] Pour hot water into the bowl.
[7] Take the tea whisk with your right hand and place your left hand on the bowl.
[8] When the tea is ready, pull up the tea whisk and return it to its original position.
[9] Whisk moderately so that the part without bubbles remains in a half-moon shape.
