When you come to Kyoto, it's a waste to just go sightseeing. Let's experience Japanese culture as well.
In Kyoto, the ancient capital of Japan, there are various modern and traditional things, and there are historical temples among modern buildings, and "Sakura" is there.
Sakura Japanese Culture Experience Class has various classes where you can experience Japanese culture.
Why don't you enjoy Japanese culture experience at "Sakura" in the center of sightseeing?
The Japanese tea ceremony is recognized worldwide as a comprehensive art form that embodies the essence of Japanese culture.
It integrates many beautiful elements such as flowers, tea utensils, hanging scrolls, incense, and kimono, bringing them together into a single, harmonious experience.
Some people may feel uneasy about sitting on the tatami floor, worry about not knowing the proper etiquette, or wonder if there are strict rules to follow.
At my private tea room, we keep class sizes small, creating a welcoming environment where even first-time participants can feel at ease.
Since the history of tea ceremony, matcha, tea utensils, and etiquette varies with the seasons, we provide explanations tailored to each session and answer your questions as thoroughly as possible.
Many of our guests include those who visit Kyoto repeatedly because they do not have the time for regular lessons or do not have access to a teacher nearby. We also welcome many student groups on school trips.
So far, over 8,000 guests have experienced tea ceremony in my tea room.
In 2020, I was honored to be selected as one of the top 10% hosts worldwide on Airbnb Experiences, and I also received the Certificate of Excellence from TripAdvisor.
During the pandemic, my tea room underwent a complete renovation, handcrafted entirely by skilled Kyoto artisans using only natural materials.
Why not take a moment from your busy daily life to sit, reflect, and reconnect with yourself?
By preparing a single bowl of matcha, you may find yourself naturally calming down and becoming more aware of the beauty of Japan’s four seasons.
I invite you to step into the world of tea and experience its heart and soul.

In the tea ceremony, the flowers and utensils change according to the season, and it is an important element to enjoy the sense of the season.
Sweets are served by long-established Kyoto sweets such as "Kyogashi Kamehiroyasu", "Kyogashi Tawaraya Yoshitomi", and "Nijo Wakasaya".

The name "SAKURA" comes from the fact that Ihei Ito of Somei, Kamikomagome Village, Toshima County (Komagome, Toshima-ku, Tokyo), an ancestor of our president, Manabu Ito, was a developer of someiyoshino (someiyoshino) trees during the Edo period.
It is said that Tokugawa Yoshimune, the shogun of the time, personally visited "Kirishimaya Ihei" to buy azaleas and wisteria, and also enjoyed tea.
We opened "SAKURA" in the hope of providing tourists with authentic Japanese culture in Kyoto, the pride of Japan's tourist city.
We do not only offer a superficial experience of Japanese culture, but also a fun and wonderful experience for everyone, regardless of nationality, gender, age, or experience.
We hope that everyone, regardless of nationality, gender, age, or experience, will enjoy the experience and have a wonderful memory and a happy time.
